Our Fave Indie Theaters
Independent movie theaters have a strong and loyal following in Beantown, and Battery Wharf wants to introduce you to the best that Boston has to offer. If you're looking for lesser known films that don't enjoy a wide release, head to the Harvard Film Archive on Quincy Street in Cambridge. The Archive doesn't have screenings every day, so if you're looking to get your fix mid-day or mid-week, head to the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline. There are multiple theaters of different sizes showing war films, cartoons, and black comedies. For the best selection of what's new in indie we recommend the Capitol Theater in Arlington. This small, turn-of-the-century building will indulge your nostalgia, and it hosts an old-fashioned creamery and ice cream parlor to boot!
