Independence Day on the Esplanade with the Boston Pops
If there’s one city that absolutely exudes American history, it’s Boston, Massachusetts. So it should come as no surprise that Beantown also hosts the most massive Independence Day celebration anywhere in the country. On Tuesday, July 3, and Wednesday, July 4, mosey down to the Esplanade, a gorgeous grassy strip of green that runs along the Charles River, to enjoy concerts by the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Maestro Keith Lockhart, who’s led the world-renowned ensemble on almost 40 nationwide tours and countless televised performances. You’ll be treated to an eclectic mix of modern day pop favorites and classic symphonic works, topped off with some bona fide cannon fire. On the 4th, the concert will be followed by an awe-inspiring fireworks extravaganza illuminating the night sky above the Charles. If you’ve only ever seen it on TV, well, trust us, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
