The Lawn on D
As the summer heats up, there is always something to get excited about at The Lawn on D. This vibrant event space, which hosts community events and concerts, as well as games and attractions for all ages, is open to the public seven days a week through the fall. Located just a short 2-mile drive down the waterfront from the hotel, The Lawn on D makes for an excellent daytime outing for guests with an appetite fun under the sun.
With cheap eats and drink on offer, we recommend guests head to The Lawn in the afternoon and pay a visit to the Concession Stand, which is owned and operated by Rebel Restaurants who run some of Boston’s most popular eateries. At the park, concessions mostly include mainly provides picnic fare like grilled favorites and sandwiches, as well as craft beers and wine for those of imbibing age. Take your meal onto the Lawn and enjoy the games and interactive art exhibits open to all. At the intersection of creativity and innovation, the park is outfitted with zany, new age and immersive public works of art like Swing Time, a gigantic set of swings with solar-powered LED lights that change color as the swinger goes faster and higher. Friends and family can also partake in some good natured competition with the giant Jenga, cornhole, bocce courts, and ping pong tables available. Music lovers rejoice! Multiple times a week, the Lawn hosts DJs and live groups via Berklee School of Music’s Berklee Summer in the City series.
Once you’re tuckered out from the UV-rays and good times, head back to the Battery for a quiet New England-meets-Mediterranean dinner in the Aragosta Bar and Bistro. If you’re still enjoying the brilliant summer day, relax on The Terrace and watch Boston Harbor come alive at sunset.
